Religious extremism like Frankenstein’s monster: Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that religious extremism is like Frankenstein’s monster.

“The people will not allow any conspiracy of extremism to succeed in the country with the immortal heroism of millions of martyrs,” he said while speaking at a press conference at his official residence on Thursday.

Obaidul Quader alleged, “Blinded by the lure of power, BNP is trying to gain political advantage by using religion. The BNP has used the religion before and now they started to use this again.”

Addressing the BNP leaders, the Awami League General Secretary said you will have to deal with the attacks of those you are patronizing.

Mentioning that BNPO does not want to build a sculpture of Bangabandhu, Obaidul Quader said, They have no interest for political reasons as they rewarded Bangabandhu’s killers for their conspiracy.

He added that the BNP does not want to talk about sculpture. When the reactionary clique has challenged the Liberation War of this country, the spirit of the Liberation War, the cultural heritage –  even then the BNP leaders do not want to speak in public.

“The BNP has clarified their anti-liberation stance. If not, why not speak out against extremists in public? The BNP’s colorful politics on the sculpture issue has now become clear to the nation,” he added.

Obaidul Quader said that the BNP is openly or secretly supporting the activities of the extremist communal group.

“The politics of the country is now divided into two streams. On the one hand, the politics of development and prosperity, on the other hand, the politics of stopping the country’s continuous progress. On the one hand, the non-communal consciousness of ‘71, on the other hand, the communal consciousness of ‘47, the Awami League General Secretary said.

He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, relentless efforts are being made to create a science-minded generation in the spirit of the Liberation War. At that time, the traditional Pakistani ideology was trying to push the country backward and create instability.

The Awami League General Secretary again warned that the people will not allow any conspiracy to succeed in this country built on the immortal heroism of millions of martyrs.
