First woman barrister on Board of Directors of Gulshan Club

Barrister Sumaiya Aziz, a Supreme Court lawyer, has been elected as a Director of the prestigious Gulshan Club Limited in the capital. She is the first woman barrister in the history of Gulshan Club who elected as a Director.

Earlier on Saturday, December 23, a total of 1,096 members exercised their voting rights in a festive atmosphere at Gulshan Club.

She was elected Director by getting maximum 750 votes.

Eminent businessman Anowar Rashid has been elected as the President of the 11-member Board of Directors.

In a reaction Barrister Sumaiya said, “There are no words to express my gratitude to the members of the club.

All I can say is that I will dedicate myself to prove all kinds of legal services to any member of the club, especially women members.”

Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Sumaiya is also the Managing Partner of Legal Capital, a reputed legal consultancy firm.

She is serving as a legal consultant to various companies and different foreign embassies in Bangladesh.

She is also a member of the capital’s Dhaka Club, Banani Club, Purbachal Club, apart from Gulshan Club.

His father Dr Azizur Rahman was a former Secretary and his mother Sabiha Sultana was the General Manager of Sonali Bank.
