Dhaka north and south city corporation has informed the High Court on the decreasing number of dengue patients in recent days.

Following a court order, the two city corporations submitted their report to the bench of Justice Tariq ul Hakim and Justice Md Shohrowardi on Monday.

On August 20, the High Court came down heavily on the two city corporations of Dhaka, as new patients continued to be hospitalized because of largely ineffective mosquito insecticides in use.

It asked the city corporations to submit a report to the court on how and where the city corporation employees are working, and a report on the number of dengue patients in Bangladesh.

It also asked the government to submit a long term plan to prevent dengue.

The High Court asked Deputy Attorney General Kazi Mainul Hasan whether the funds allotted by Local Government Ministry to city corporations have been properly used or not, and where the monitoring report is.
