Poriborton Kori raising funds for Palestinians

Local non-profit organization Poriborton Kori Foundation met with the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Dhaka, his Excellency Yousuf S.Y. Ramadan at his office earlier Tuesday to consult and understand how we Bangladeshis can best assist Palestine in this time of need.

Poriborton Kori’s Founder Barrister Ahsan Bhuiyan, known for his community mobilization was accompanied by the General Secretary of the Foundation, Ms. Anusha Anowar as they discussed how to best collect and send funds to Palestine with his Excellency, Yousuf S.Y, Ramadan who had expressed his gratitude to the overwhelming response he has received since the Embassy’s call for help.

His excellency stated that currently due to logistical reasons, the best aid would be in the form of financial donations. He also noted that all the mobile banking accounts of Bkash that the Embassy has been using has been maxed out, and they are currently waiting for approval for a merchant account.

Barrister Ahsan Bhuiyan had then immediately gotten His Excellency in touch via video call from his phone with the Managing Director of Nagad Mr. Mishuk Tanvir and Chief Public Affairs Officer Solaiman Shukon to help facilitate the opening of a Nagad account. In addition, Barrister Ahsan contacted Bkash authority to prompt the process of extending the limit of the Embassy's existing Bkash accounts.

As the embassy awaits approval for both their bkash and Nagad merchant accounts, Poriborton Kori is facilitating raising funds through its Bkash and Nagad account number 01953335674 to pay to the Embassy.

The founder and members of the organization humbly urges the people of Bangladesh to come forward and help our brothers and sisters of Palestine in the time of their most humanitarian need.
