Over 10 bn Cyber attacks occurred in 2 months
|
The tech-world is undergoing severe cyber attacks even in the situation of the world pandemic coronavirus outbreak. In the last two months, hackers have attacked more than one million websites; and each of the affected websites has undergone more than 100 times web attacks. In the last 24 hours, more than 100000 sites have been infected. Ram Gall, a quality assurance engineer, and cyber threat analyst, said in a blog post that almost all of the sites attacked were built on the popular content management system, WordPress. WordPress security plugin WordFence says they have thwarted attempts to attack 1.3 million sites between May 29 and May 31. Each site was attacked hundreds of times on average. It is known that the main target of this attack is to take control of the database. Hackers first try to take the wp-config.php file from the site. This file contains information about the connection to the site and the database and the password. If it is possible, the work of hackers becomes easier.
