Jamalpur-2 MP tests positive for coronavirus

MP of Jamalpur-2 Constituency Faridul Haque Khan Dulal has been tested positive for coronavirus in the PCR Lab of Mymensingh Medical College on Wednesday.

Besides, 54 more people have been identified with the virus in the district on the same day. Jamalpur General Hospital Assistant Director Dr. Mahfuzur Rahman Sohan confirmed the matter.

He said coronavirus was found in the bodies of 57 people of Jamalpur in the PCR Lab of the Medical College on Wednesday. Three of them are previously infected.

Apart from MP Faridul Haque Khan Dulal, Jamalpur Awami League General Secretary Advocate Abdus Salam, Upazila Vice-Chairman Abdul Khaleq, and women Vice-Chairman Rozina Akter were among the new victims. Besides, there are 18 in Bakshiganj, 8 in Sadar, 3 in Dewanganj, two in Madarganj, and 1 in Melandah Upazila.

With this, the number of people infected in the district raised to 307. Of these, 132 have recovered and 4 have died.
