Bangladeshi universities fail to secure place in global ranking

Bangladeshi universities have failed to secure any position in the “Asia University Rankings-2019,” in the Times Higher Education (THE) magazine.

The ranking featured institutions from 27 countries where China’s Tsinghua University topped the list, followed by National University of Singapore, and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

Japan led the way with 103 universities in the ranking, while China came second with 72 institutions. India is the third most represented country with 49 universities, as per the THE rankings.

The ranking evaluates research-intensive universities according to their core missions: teaching, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook, to list their ranking.

Among the South Asian countries, India has highest the highest number of institutions followed by Pakistan with nine universities, and one each from Sri Lanka and Nepal has been listed in the ranking.
