BEELIA announces new executive committee for 2026-2028 term

A new executive committee has been formed for the 2026-2028 term of Bangladesh Elevator Escalators and Lift Importers Association (BEELIA), the organization of elevator importers in Bangladesh. Shafiul Alam Ujjal has been elected as the president and Eadul Haque has been elected as the general secretary.

The committee was announced at The Rainy Roof Restaurant at BTMC Bhaban in Karoran Bazar in the capital on Saturday (February 28). After that, an introductory meeting of the newly formed executive committee and an iftar mahfil were held there, along with an exchange of views among the members of the organization.

It was informed at the ceremony that the election process for the election of the new executive committee was completed in a fair and peaceful manner as per the schedule announced by the Election Board. A full panel validly submitted nomination papers against 13 posts within the stipulated time. However, as no other valid nomination papers were submitted against those posts, the Election Board declared the candidates elected unopposed.

Senior Vice President Achinta Kumar Biswas, Vice President Asim Sarkar, Finance Secretary SM Monir Uzzaman Monir, Joint General Secretary Md. Khalid Hossain Tarafdar. Those elected to the post of director are Mohammad Zakirul Haque, Md. Neyamul Haque, Md. Latfar Rahman, Faruk Hossain, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, Ahmed Ali and Aref Ahmed.

At the time, newly elected committee president Shafiul Alam Ujjal said, "Under the new leadership, the organization's activities will be more well-organized and dynamic.   Under their leadership, Beelia's activities will be more well-organized, dynamic and fruitful, God willing." He expressed his hope for protecting the interests of members, improving the quality of the elevator industry, formulating effective policies to ensure safety, and strengthening coordination with the government.

At the end of the program, special prayers and supplications were offered for the welfare of the country and the nation. The guests present expressed the opinion that the Iftar Mahfil will play an important role in further strengthening the bonds of friendship, harmony and mutual cooperation among the members.
