BB releases new notes from May 22

Bangladesh Bank (BB) is set to release new notes in dominations of Tk 10, 20, 50 and 100 in the market ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr from May 22.

The new notes will be distributed from all branches of Bangladesh Bank and some commercial banks across the country every day until May 30, said a press release.

The distribution of new notes will remain closed in the government holidays, the release added.

BB said a person will be allowed to collect notes once only. However, one can collect metal currency as many times as he or she wants, the central bank said.
