Four killed in lightning during fishingFour people have died, and eight others injured in lightning strikes while fishing in Patgram and Hatibandha Upazilas of Lalmonirhat.

Two people died in Tongbhanga UP of Hatibandha Upazila and two in Islampur area of Patgram Upazila on Thursday morning.

It is learned that Jahedul Islam, son of Khandaker Ali of Islampur area of Patgram Upazila and Rakib Hossain, son of Zahir Uddin of the same area died in a lightning strike while fishing.

At the same time, Montu Mia, son of Ramzan Ali of East Bejgram area and Atiq, son of Abdul Hamid, died in a lightning strike while fishing at Kalibari Dola in Tongbhanga UP of Hatibandha Upazila. At least eight people, including Bacha Mia and Shafiqul Islam from Patgram, have been injured in the lightning strike.

Patgram Police Station OC Sumon Kumar Mohanta and Hatibandha Police Station OC Omar Farooq confirmed the incident.
