Sahara Khatun to be shifted to BSMMU on Sat
Former Home Minister and Awami League presidium member Advocate Sahara Khatun will be transferred to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on Saturday morning, confirmed her nephew Mojibur Rahman to Daily Bangladesh on Friday afternoon.
He said that she (Sahara Khatun) was taken to the ICU again around 11:00 am as her physical condition deteriorated.
Her heartbeat was not available at that time. Later doctors tried hard to bring back the heartbeat. She was then taken to the ICU, said Mojibar Rahman.
“In such a situation, it has been decided that she will be taken to BSMMU on Saturday by 11:00 am,” he also said.
According to the decision of the medical board formed for Sahara Khatun – she could be taken abroad for better treatment. However, we have not yet decided. Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is conducting regular inquiries, he added.
Earlier, when Sahara Khatun’s condition improved, she was transferred from ICU to HDU (High Dependency Unit) on June 22. Her family members admitted her to the United Hospital in the capital on June 2 after feeling ill with fever, allergies, and other old-age complications. She was taken to the ICU on June 19 after her condition deteriorated while undergoing treatment.
