Education minister calls every teacher, student to plant tree
On the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni urged every teacher and student to plant a tree. She also called for planting at least ten trees if one tree is cut down.
She made the call on Friday while inaugurating a tree-planting campaign on the occasion of Bangabandhu's birth centenary organized by Swadhinata BCS General Education Parliament online.
Speaking as the chief guest, the Education Minister said, “Our forests were ruined due to long-term neglect. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the tree-planting drive to protect the forests and build a livable Bangladesh for the next generation.”
She said under the leadership of the present government, many policies, laws, and regulations have been formulated for the protection of nature and the environment. The constitution has also been amended to protect the environment.
