Don’t send your generation abroad illegally: Foreign Minister
The liability of those who are being tortured reaching abroad illegally cannot be avoided by their families, relatives, or neighbors, said the Foreign Minister Dr. AK Abdul Momen. He said they should not send their generations abroad illegally.
He made the remarks in a video message on Friday in response to a report of US Department of State on human trafficking.
Dr. Abdul Momen said, “We want to stop human trafficking, child trafficking and women trafficking from this country. We can’t do it without everyone’s help.”
He said that the responsibility of those who are being tortured abroad illegally cannot be avoided by their families, relatives or neighbors.
The foreign minister also said, “You should not send your generations abroad illegally. And if someone talks about sending you abroad illegally, inform the police or the local administration.”
“We have long way to go. We will surely win. Build up strong public opinion (against trafficking and traffickers),” he said.
Earlier on Thursday, US State Department report on human trafficking called for Bangladesh to be upgraded from watch list to Tier-2.”
