‘Nation free from stigma because Sheikh Hasina came’
Since Sheikh Hasina came to her homeland (Bangladesh) on May 17, 1981, she freed the nation from stigma by prosecuting the murderers of Bangabandhu and war criminals, said Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader.
He made the remarks while addressing a video conference on the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Homecoming Day organized by the Relief and Social Welfare Sub-Committee at the Awami League president's political office in Dhanmondi on Sunday. During this time, relief materials and medical equipment were distributed among various organizations.
Obaidul Quader said if not for Sheikh Hasina, the trial for the murder of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman would not have been done. “Bangabandhu’s daughter Sheikh Hasina has freed the nation from stigma by prosecuting Bangabandhu’s murder and war criminals.”
He said Bangladesh today is on the verge of world victory under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu. “The people of the country can sleep peacefully today. Today, Bangladesh stands tall for Sheikh Hasina.”
The party’s General Secretary said Bangladesh has risen to the top of the world due to Sheikh Hasina’s strong leadership, ability, dedication, intellectual creativity, and visionary leadership.
Bangladesh, once plagued by poverty and famine, had to struggle to survive. Today, she is leading the country on a new journey of world conquest. All this has happened for Sheikh Hasina’s leadership. She is the only helmsman for the people of Bangladesh, he also said.
He added that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken effective steps since the beginning of the coronavirus crisis. That is why Bangladesh is still in a better position than other countries in the world.
Road Transport and Bridges Minister said, “In sha Allah, under the strong leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her desired development and prosperity will come by overcoming the coronavirus crisis.”
Awami League presidium members Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Abdur Rahman, advisory council members AKM Rahmatullah, joint general secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, organizing secretary BM Mozammel Haque, SM Kamal Hossain, relief secretary Sujit Roy Nandi and others were present.
