Madrasa, technical edu institutions get MPO code
After general education institutions, now the 973 madrasas and technical education institutions have got MPO code. Besides, the teachers and employees of these institutions have been instructed to pay government salaries, Bangladesh Madrasa and Technical Education Board issued a directive on Thursday.
Among the coded educational institutions – 324 are Dakhil madrasas, 119 Alim madrasas, 34 Fazil madrasas, 22 Kamil madrasas, 60 at Diploma in Agriculture level, 218 at Business Management (BM) level and 160 at SSC and Dakhil Vocational level.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Department of Secondary and Higher Education issued an order allocating MPO codes in favor of 1633 institutions. In all, 2550 educational institutions were given MPO code in two phases.
The teachers and employees of these MPO-enrolling institutions will get a government salary allowance from July 1, 2019. For this, they have to apply online to the Department of Secondary and Higher Education. Then the MPO will be implemented by checking and verifying their availability. If any of these educational institutions fail to qualify as per the policy, the MPO of that institution will be suspended.
According to the MPO order, teachers and employees will be entitled to salaries and allowances as per the manpower structure of private educational institutions (schools and colleges) and MPO policy-2018.
However, the qualifications and experience of the teachers and staff will be applicable under the regulations, circulars, manpower structure, and MPO policy during the recruitment period.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on October 23 last year at Ganobhaban published the list of MPO registration of 2,730 companies. Earlier, in the first term of this government, 624 educational institutions were MPO registered in 2010.
