Coronavirus death toll tops 237,000

The lethal coronavirus has claimed more than 237,000 lives, and infected over 3.36 million people around the globe; reports international survey agency on coronavirus situation, Worldometer.

According to the data received from the site, so far 237,458 people have died across the world from the deadly virus infection, and 3,363,945 people have been infected. On the other hand, 1,069,036 people have been recovered from the deadly virus infection globally.

The virus, which was detected for the first time in China in late December last, has so far spread to 210 countries and territories around the world.

The United States is the worst plagued by the deadly coronavirus in terms of both death and infection. So far, 1,111,236 people have been infected with the virus in the country. Of them, 64,876 have died.

Italy has the second-highest number of deaths. So far, 207,428 people have been infected with the lethal coronavirus in the country. Of them, 28,236 people have died.

The United Kingdom has risen to third place in terms of death. The death toll in coronavirus infection in the country has stood at 27,510. The total number of victims is 177,454.

Spain remains in the 4th position in terms of deaths and second in terms of infection globally. The total death toll in the country is 24,824 while the cases rose to 242,988.

In China, the origin of the coronavirus outbreak, the total coronavirus cases have stood at 82,874, and the deaths toll remains 4,633 as no new death is reported in the last 24 hours.
