The third edition of the Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports Championship is being organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports on the occasion of Mujib Barsha and the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh with the participation of 125 universities. Isaba Masnun, a student of Jagannath University, became the champion in female category in the chess competition of the year.

On Wednesday, the finals and medal presentation ceremony for chess took place on the campus of Independent University. In the finale, she defeated the University of Asia Pacific chess player and became the champion.

Toppa Sarkar, a student of Dhaka University, won the 2nd place in the women's category in the chess final, and Jannatul Mawa Maury, a student of Independent University, won the 3rd place.

Isaba Masnun said about becoming the champion, "I am very happy. In the future, I want to do better in chess and play at national level. Chess keeps our brains fresh. I think everyone should play chess to exercise their brain. It feels even better that the name of Jagannath University has come up through this achievement."

It should be noted that in 2020, 6,500 sports-loving students from 104 universities participated in the 2nd edition of the Bangabandhu Inter-University Sports Championship, keeping in mind the slogan of Bangabandhu's immortal words, "To build a golden Bangla, we want golden people."
