Alisha Pradhan Among Star-studded List of Tedx Kanke Speakers, India

TEDx Kanke took place last Saturday, 9th of April in Ranchi, Jharkhand India and the CEO of HerNet TV, Alisha Pradhan was one of the 15 spectacular speakers there, sharing her billion dreams with the world as per the theme of the event, The Billion Dreams.

Alisha Pradhan began her 21 minutes long speech with a quote from the historic Bangla speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from when he addressed the United Nations General Assembly in 1974. She connected the quote with the importance of fulfilling the role of each individual citizen of Bangladesh for the development of this nation and spoke of how she is always putting in the effort to do her part through her company, HerNet TV.

Then, Pradhan went on to frankly speak about her adventurous childhood life and how she overcame the obstacles that constantly threatened to pull her down. She spoke admirably of her homesickness for Bangladesh during her stay in the USA and how she expanded her horizon by challenging herself with new experiences. Pradhan joined a networking business that brought excellent connections & success, also friends of every race & culture. She also emphasized the gift of nothingness that was brought to her by the USA which later helped her discover the zen philosophy of living

in the moment.

Not even in her thirties, Pradhan has experienced a lot of good as well as bad, success as well as failure in her life, from her years as an actress and producer to her years as the youngest industrial merchandiser in Bangladesh, and so many other journeys which finally led to her founding HerNet TV in 2018 and its many successes over its short years.

Every such big and small collective experience are now helping her run HerNet TV on a budget that was otherwise impossible.

Pradhan successfully directed a few TVCs & documentaries, executed more than 20 phenomenal events, 40 original TV shows, Community & CSR Award shows, Promoted & partnered with 1000 events with govt, NGOs, and Org to bring women’s stories to the front page & give them center stage.

Alisha Pradhan confidently illustrated on the Tedx stage how HerNet TV produced the first transgender lifestyle show in 2018 called IN BETWEEN- Bridging the gap. HerNet is the first TV to hire third-gender women in different posts. To create job opportunities for transgender, HerNet launched their first reality show, “THIRD GENDER GOT TALENT”.

Pradhan for the first time declared on the Tedx Stage that HerNet TV is “World’s 1st TV on Women’s Well-being” & World’s 1st TV based on SDG.

In the coming 5 years, HerNet will have subsidiary TV of HerNet in 50-plus countries to become a global voice for women, children, transgender, and the underprivileged.

Lastly, Pradhan spoke of her seven goals for HerNet TV to bring solutions to years-old problems and build an inclusive community with well-researched and constructive schemes and initiatives. She also mentioned the big international event, HerNet Lordess Award, which is expected to occur in July 2022, before ending with another quote from Bangabandhu’s speech. She awed the crowd with her journey and ever-evolving dreams, receiving multiple applause throughout her speech.

Among the other speakers present, there was also the singer and musician, Dr. Palash Sen. Mr. Sen is best known as the founder and frontman of India’s Rock/Pop band Euphoria. Furthermore, there was the Indian actor, Harish Patel, who garnered international recognition after starring in Marvel Studios’ Eternals as Karun and also appeared in American and British films. There was also the entrepreneur and co-founder of EaseMyTrip, which is the 2nd largest & fastest growing travel portal in India, Prashant Pitti. Mr. Pitti is also the co-founder of a social app NearGroup, which crossed 42 million users worldwide. Mr. Pitti and his brother were also featured in the Forbes India Magazine.

Moreover, social activist, Temsutula Imsong, also spoke about her dreams. She acquired global fame for her inspirational individual initiative in cleaning up the ghats of Varanasi, received recognition from the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Narendra Modi, and is the Co-founder of Sakaar Sewa Samiti, which is a non-profit organization involved in rural initiatives concerning child health, sanitation, relief efforts during floods and also supporting self-help groups working for preserving traditional handicrafts. Sumedha Sengupta, a classical Odissi dancer was also present. She is an A Graded Artist of Doordarshan Kendra, New Delhi, and empaneled artist of SPICMACAY for Workshop Demonstration and has earned many gold medals and recognition from all over the country and the Indian Ministry of Culture.

Author of India Social, and political strategist and campaign consultant, Ankit Lal has been working as a consultant for individual candidates in South Africa, Malaysia and Sri Lanka over the past few years. He worked as the Social Media & IT Head of AAP since its inception in 2012 till 2020, and managed the party’s Digital presence in more than 15 National, state and municipal level elections. Mr. Lal also came up with his own Political Consultancy firm called ‘Politique Advisors’ in 2020 and has worked in 3 different state elections with 3 different political organizations. Subodh Poddar is a renowned Ad Guru and contemporary artist. Previously, a film director at FCB Ulka and a creative director of popular advertisements for more than 200 products like Amul, Nerolac, LIC, Santoor, etc. He never attends a dance performance without his sketchbook and pen, and attempts to capture the energy of the live dance movements while seeing them on stage. Ali Afroz, currently a Law student, was declared the topper of All India Law Entrance Test 2018 in the differently-abled category. Diagnosed with 90% blindness when he was just a year-and-a-half, this partially sighted young man made it to the first merit list of almost all prestigious law entrance exams including CLAT, SLAT, LSAT and CET.

The rest of the list included travel blogger Aakanksha Monga, tech entrepreneur and CEO of Praan Angad Daryani, mountaineer Satyarup Siddhanta, social scientist and writer Shubhasish Chakraborty, Temjen Imna Along and Marwan Abubaker among the speakers for this event.

The title sponsor for the event was Tata Steel. The organizer of Tedx Kanke is Mr. Rajeev Gupta and the curator is Mr. Chander Mohan Chugh.
