The lungs are one of the most important organs in the human body. Little carelessness can harm it to malfunction. But, a regular balanced diet can help your lungs keep healthy.

All physicians agree that quitting smoking is a prerequisite for keeping the lungs healthy. Besides, there are some foods, if eaten regularly, keep the lungs healthy. Let’s find out about those foods — 


Excess salt in packaged foods found in markets is very harmful to the lungs, however, using a moderate amount of salt while cooking will keep the lungs healthy.


Coffee is also useful in reducing inflammation in the Trachea. It contains Polyphenols which are especially helpful in keeping the lungs strong. But remember, if you drink coffee too much, it will endanger your health.


Strawberries, blueberries or blackberries contain anthocyanins. As the lungs become weaker with age, regular consumption of these fruits greatly can reduce the deterioration of the lung condition.

Red-colored fruits and vegetables

According to nutrition experts, red capsicum, vegetables like tomatoes and fruits that contains anti-oxidants are beneficial for the lungs. Tomato juice is very effective in reducing Bronchitis. Besides, red fruits and vegetables are especially useful for those patients who suffer from chronic lung problems.

Green vegetables

Doctors believe that vegetables are important for every part of the body. Studies have shown that green vegetables significantly reduce the risk of lung cancer. For this, spinach, fenugreek, broccoli, green capsicum, etc. and various seasonal vegetables should be included in our daily diet.
